Rabbi Green Induction

Today we celebrated the induction of Rabbi and Rebbetzen Green. The Chief Rabbi described it as a double shidduch, marking not only the successful marriage of the Northwood and Ruislip communities but also the uniting of both with a new and dynamic rabbinic couple. And what a simcha it was!
Rabbi Green responded, comparing his arrival and establishment at Northwood & Ruislip to the Shechechiyanu blessing that we make on important new things (like a house or car) and the first time each year we fulfil many mitzvahs (like lighting the Chanukiah).
Baruch Ata Adonai, Eloheinu Melech Haolam, shehechiyanu, v’kiy’manu, v’higianu lazman hazeh.
Blessed are You Eternal Spirit who has given us life, sustained us and allowed us to arrive in this moment.
The service, with wonderful ruach and familiar tunes, was led by the wonderful Chazzan Jonny Turgel and the master of ceremony was our own warden, Anthony Robinson. It was attended not only by the Chief Rabbi but also the mayor of Hillingdon, the leader of Three Rivers District Council and Cllr Debbie Morris (also a NRUS member) as well as other rabbis and our Rabbi & Rebbetzen’s proud parents and family, of course.
Following the service the community was invited to a sumptuous celebratory tea.
