An easy pledge this Rosh Hashanah…

At Waitrose Northwood
Here's the special bin downstairs near the car park entrance of Waitrose in Northwood

It’s Rosh Chodesh Elul which means Rosh Hashanah is nearly upon us – the season of reflection and introspection. What can we do better this year? Everyone is now aware of the scourge of micro-plastics in the food chain and now even in the human body!

Avoiding single-use plastics, reducing and separating our waste and recycling where possible is something we have all got used to. However some things just can’t be recycled, right? Particularly flexible plastic wrappers of vegetables, biscuits, crisps, breakfast cereals and a whole host of others? Part true, but nowadays more can be recycled than you than you think, just not at home.

So get organised. Save this type of packaging and take it with to the supermarket when you go. If you get your shopping delivered, the drivers from all major supermarkets will take this waste for you. Make a pledge to the wonderful world G-d created this Rosh Hashanah.
