“He’s the quiet one…” I was first told when I asked if anyone knew about our Barmitzvah this week, Yehudah, son of our Rabbi & Rebbetzen Green.
But there’s much more to Yehudah than that! Firstly, Yehudah is…well…just that, the firstborn and elder of the Green family. According to his parents he is a model big brother to Chaim, Mendel, Zalman, Shmuel & Racheli. He is wise, calm kind and caring. And studious – he came 2nd in a competition a couple of years ago amongst over 1,000 boys in his year group in all the Lubavitch schools across the world to learn mitzvos and has set multiple learning records throughout the years in his junior school. Oh and he can also solve a Rubiks cube in 15 seconds!
As well as being something of a chess master he is daring, liking nothing better than to climb to the top of whatever is the highest point around. And adventurous – one of his best friends, from Ukraine, is trying to convince Yehudah to join him for yeshiva there next year. He would certainly be missing out on his favourite foods: fish & chips and sushi, presumably not together!
