On Sunday morning, 10 May, Professor Miri Rubin of Queen Mary University, London gave a highly interesting and knowledgeable talk about Europe’s Medieval Jewish Communities, focusing on Jews in Britain at the time.
She focused on everyday life and Jews either assimilated, or not, into specific European countries. She used a range of documentary and physical evidence to emphasise how the Jews survived these times.
At the end of the talk, she took questions from the fifty or so NRUS members and friends. It was without doubt great way to start a Sunday morning, very thought provoking given the existing antisemitism in today’s world.
